Absolute Petroleum

A professional WordPress website for Manitoba's largest petroleum contractor, built to prove 20 years of experience, showcase real projects, and make it easy for clients to get in touch.

Absolute Petroleum

Challenge

Absolute Petroleum grew from two guys with a truck into Manitoba's largest petroleum contractor, but their old site didn't show that. It needed to prove their size and experience at a glance, not just claim it. Visitors also needed a fast way to see what the company does, trust their 20 years of experience and safety certifications, and find a way to get in touch or apply for a job without digging through pages.

Solution

I built a clean WordPress site (Elementor Pro) that leads with proof. Right on the homepage, visitors see 200+ years of combined technician experience, 20 years in business, and 30+ employees. Services, past projects, and the industries they serve are laid out in simple, photo-based grids so visitors can scan them fast. A "From Two Men and a Truck" story section and a full wall of safety certifications (Avetta, COR, ISN, TSSA, CPCA) build trust, and clear buttons for quotes, contact, and job applications show up throughout the site.

Project Overview

Absolute Petroleum is a petroleum contractor based in West Saint Paul, Manitoba. They build, maintain, and repair fuel systems for gas stations, bulk fuel plants, and remote sites across Canada.

I built their WordPress website to show off two things at once: how big and experienced the company really is, and how easy they are to work with. The site needed to turn a 20-year track record into something a new visitor could trust in a few seconds.

The Challenge

Absolute Petroleum grew from two guys with a truck into Manitoba's largest petroleum contractor. That's a great story, but their old site didn't tell it. It needed to prove their size and experience at a glance instead of just claiming it.

On top of that, visitors needed a fast way to see what the company does, trust their safety certifications, and find a way to get in touch or apply for a job, without digging through pages of text.

In short, the site needed to:

  • Show off the company's size and experience right away.
  • Make the services and past projects easy to browse.
  • Build trust with safety certifications and real photos.
  • Tell the "two men and a truck" growth story.
  • Make it simple to request a quote, ask a question, or apply for a job.

The Solution

I built a clean WordPress site (Elementor Pro) that leads with proof instead of vague claims. Real numbers, real photos, and real certifications do the talking.

The homepage puts the company's biggest trust signals front and center, services and projects are shown in simple photo grids, and a dedicated careers page and contact page make it easy to take the next step. Every page uses the same simple, professional layout so the site feels consistent no matter where a visitor lands.

Homepage Experience

The homepage opens with a strong photo of a Shell station and a clear message: "Your Trusted Petroleum Partner Across Canada," backed by "Providing Reliable Petroleum Solutions for 20 Years."

Right below the headline, three numbers back up the claim: 200+ years of combined licensed technician experience, 20 years in business, and 30+ experienced employees.

Putting these numbers above the fold means a visitor doesn't have to read a paragraph to know they're looking at an experienced, established company.

Services and Projects

Right after the stats, the homepage shows what Absolute Petroleum actually does, using photos instead of just a list of words.

Services are shown as a simple grid: New Builds, Additions, and Complete Installs, Bulk Fuel Plants & Gas Stations, and Emergency Repairs & Troubleshooting, each with a real project photo and a link to learn more.

Further down, a "Our Projects" section shows completed jobs like a Long Plains tank installation, a NorthWest Company fuel station rebuild, and a Shell King Edward upgrade in Winnipeg, so visitors can see real, finished work instead of stock photos.

Building Trust

Petroleum work is safety-sensitive, so the site puts a lot of weight on proof and credentials instead of just saying "trust us."

An "Industries We Serve" section shows the types of clients Absolute Petroleum works with (Bulk Fuel Plants, Gas Stations, Remote Sites, and Commercial & Federal Properties), right next to a full row of safety and industry certifications: Avetta, COR, ISNetworld, TSSA, and CPCA.

For a company that works with engineering firms and government contracts, showing these certifications clearly matters as much as the sales copy.

Telling the Company Story

Numbers and certifications build trust fast, but the "From Two Men and a Truck to Manitoba's Largest Petroleum Contractor" section gives the company a human story to go with them.

The story covers how the company started in 2007 with a single truck and grew into a 30+ person team, and it ties that growth to the same values shown everywhere else on the site: dependability, responsiveness, and strong client relationships.

Careers Page

Hiring skilled petroleum mechanics is hard, so the careers page is built to sell the job, not just list requirements.

The open "PM2/PM3 Petroleum Mechanics" posting explains the role, what the job involves, what the candidate needs to bring, and the full list of perks and benefits (health and dental, RRSP matching, boot allowance, and paid travel for remote work), with a simple application form right next to the posting.

Putting the form directly beside the job details means an interested applicant can apply without hunting for a separate "Apply Now" page.

Getting In Touch

The contact page keeps things simple: a short form on one side, and every other way to reach the company on the other.

Visitors can call, email, or fill out a short form that asks what they need (a general question, a new project, a payment question, or a careers question) so the right person can follow up.

The company's address, phone number, and email are also listed in plain text, so visitors who'd rather just call don't have to use the form at all.

The Result

The final website gives Absolute Petroleum a site that matches the size of the company they've actually become.

Instead of a plain, text-heavy company site, real numbers, real photos, and real certifications now carry the message. A new visitor can land on the homepage and, within a few seconds, understand who the company is, what they do, and why they can be trusted with a fuel infrastructure project.

Key Takeaways

This project is a good example of using real proof instead of marketing language to build trust. When a client already has strong numbers, a good story, and real certifications, the job of the website is to get out of the way and show them clearly.

For Absolute Petroleum, that meant a site that leads with experience, makes services and projects easy to browse, and gives visitors a simple way to reach out, whether they're hiring the company for a project or applying to join the team.

Results

  • Put the company's biggest trust signals (200+ years of experience, 20 years in business, 30+ employees) right on the homepage instead of buried in an About page.
  • Turned a long list of services into simple, photo-based categories that are easy to scan.
  • Gave the company's growth story, "From Two Men and a Truck," its own section to build trust with new visitors.
  • Displayed all five safety and industry certifications together to build credibility with engineering firms and contractors.
  • Added a dedicated careers page with a clear job posting and a simple apply form.
  • Made it easy to reach the company through multiple contact points and a short project inquiry form.
  • Built a responsive site that works well for office staff, field contractors, and mobile visitors alike.
